Is there a website or direction generator that gives you the most enthusiastic way between two points on google maps? Like, If I'm going on a road trip, I could say where my beginning and end is, and see all the best driving roads between here and there? I'm going to be traveling on some long road trips over the next few months, and I won't have very strict time goals. Otherwise, what do you guys do to find some roads off the beaten path so you don't look like this for 8 hours straight?:

avoid all highways and tollways option ticked should make things more interesting, but perhaps there's a better alternative.

There's an App idea. It could work like Trapster and run off its users. For example a user could drop a pin on a great driving road and leave a review, road conditions, etc. Your phone could alert you of roads, marked by these pins in your general vicinity.

Look in the Rand McNally atlas. Circle your destination and starting point. Now, follow the route that looks the most like a blind snake. Disclaimer: in some areas, this route will have numerous blind curves, driveways, bus stops and other impediments to a rewarding and safe journey.

I think this is going to take me a minute to figure out, but I've downloaded the states I'm interested in, and am impressed so far!

Some of my family and I are planing to rent bikes and go nowhere in particular for the weekend. we plan to not go on the interstate system at all. I found this site that shows a lot of good motorcycle roads. If they're good for bikes, I would think they have a good chance of being good for cars.

That's similar to another motorcycle site I found. This one is more impressive though, despite missing a key road I know of off the top of my head, in Texas. I bookmarked it. Thanks!

Now that I've got the hang of it, this is quite the tool! I sent my dad his state, since he is an avid rice-rocket rider. I've downloaded like half the country now, and discovering my favorite road where I used to live is only a yellow, and there was a long red like ten miles from it... what a shame...

Yeah, When Adam showed me this I was like: "this is genius!" I almost kissed him... but he hadn't gotten divorced yet, and I still like women, so it didn't actually happen.

In any case, glad you're finding it useful!

could always do it old school and get a bunch of regional maps from aaa for everywhere you will be driving through and look for the squiggly roads...plus it's always nice to have a real map
